Holiday Fashion Event in Sumter to Benefit Domestic Violence Awareness Dec. 13

Second showcase by Total Woman Empowerment Network features an evening of fashion and advocacy.
 

SUMTER, S.C., December 1, 2025The Total Woman Empowerment Network (TTW), a program of Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, will host a fashion showcase focused on domestic violence awareness and survivor support on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, 118 Commerce St., Sumter.

Hosted by Joan D. Hampton, CEO of Total Woman Empowerment Network, the event marks the organization’s second fashion presentation in 2025, following its inaugural showcase earlier this summer. Branded “A Touch of Class,” the evening features a black-and-white runway presentation, a community recognition segment, and remarks highlighting local support resources.

The event is supported by Kyla Ann’s Bridal Boutique, Mayo’s Suit City,  State Farm (Tammy Kelly Agency), and Mathis Photography Studio.

​

According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, more than one in three women and one in four men in the United States experience violence from an intimate partner. In South Carolina, about 42 percent of women and 29 percent of men report similar abuse, according to the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

​

A portion of the proceeds will support domestic violence awareness initiatives and a local women’s shelter, helping provide counseling, emergency assistance, and recovery services for survivors.

“Our goal is to create an experience that celebrates women while addressing a real and urgent issue,” Hampton said. “Fashion is the invitation, but advocacy is the purpose.”

SUMTER, S.C., November 10, 2025The Total Woman Empowerment Network (TTW), a program of Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, will present its annual “A Touch of Class Fashion Extravaganza” on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, at 5 PM at 118 Commerce Street in Sumter, South Carolina.

Hosted by Joan D. Hampton, CEO of the Total Woman Empowerment Network, this year’s showcase celebrates sophistication, community, and compassion. Themed “A Touch of Class,” the event showcases the timeless elegance of black-and-white fashion while utilizing style as a platform for purpose, raising awareness about domestic violence prevention and supporting survivors.

While the evening will brim with inspiration and fashion, its mission remains deeply meaningful. Local Empowerment Event Returns with Focus on Domestic Violence Awareness, Talent, and Healing

Joan D. Hampton to host second annual “Conversations That Empower”
at Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries on August 9 in Sumter


 

SUMTER, S.C., August 1, 2025 — The Total Woman Empowerment Network, a program of Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, will host the second annual “Conversations That Empower: Spirit, Soul & Body” on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Good Shepherd Outreach Ministries, located at 118 Commerce Street in Sumter.

 

Following its inaugural event in October 2024, this year’s program will open with a panel discussion on domestic violence awareness, offering the community practical tools, education, and insight on how to identify and respond to abuse. Panelists will include advocates, community leaders, and survivor voices committed to ending cycles of violence.

 

After the discussion, the program will transition into a summer talent showcase featuring local singers and spoken word artists. A fashion show extravaganza and reception will follow, bringing together art, expression, and advocacy in a family-friendly setting.

 

The event is hosted by Joan D. Hampton, CEO of The Total Woman Teaching Series and a longtime advocate for women’s wellness and personal development. Under Hampton’s leadership, “Conversations That Empower” has become a signature platform designed to inform, uplift, and unify communities spanning the Midlands and PeeDee.

 

“This event creates a space where truth, talent, and transformation can exist side by side,” Hampton said. “We want guests to leave inspired, informed, and empowered to take action in their lives and communities.”

 

A portion of the event proceeds will benefit The Total Woman Domestic Violence Awareness Program, which offers year-round resources, outreach, and support services for individuals and families impacted by abuse.
